MY STORY
Tessa Belanger is an Algonquin mother, entrepreneur, storyteller, jingle dress dancer, and community advocate from Kitigan Zibi. She is the founder of Pass the Sage, a storytelling platform dedicated to healing, connection, and cultural education through books, workshops, guided reflection journals, and community conversations.
Drawing from both personal lived experience and her work supporting Indigenous youth and families, Tessa creates spaces where people are empowered to share their stories. Her work focuses on identity, resilience, mental wellness, reconciliation, and the power of storytelling and creativity as medicine.
Since launching Pass the Sage, Tessa has published an Indigenous community anthology, developed guided reflection journals, created a children's cultural workbook, facilitated workshops across schools and organizations, and spoken on topics including Indigenous perspectives, healing through storytelling, personal growth, and cultural connection. Her mission is to bridge understanding while creating opportunities for Indigenous voices to be celebrated and amplified.
Beyond her business, Tessa is committed to giving back. Through Pass the Sage, a portion of proceeds are regularly donated to Indigenous-focused charities and initiatives that support healing, youth, and community wellness.
Tessa's vision is simple: to create spaces where stories are shared, wisdom is passed on, and people leave feeling a little more connected to themselves and one another.
