MY STORY

I’m Scott Stevenson, a retired federal Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), now working as an independent leadership consultant since 2020. My expertise lies in navigating the intersection of public procurement, real property management, and relations with Indigenous peoples, and I currently serve on two not-for-profit boards—Chair of Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa and as a director with the Royal Military Colleges of Canada Alumni Association.

My career includes 13 years in senior roles managing federal real property, including as ADM of Infrastructure and Environment at National Defence, Senior ADM of Regional Operations at (then) Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, and as Visiting ADM at Canada Lands Company, where I led collaboration projects to optimize under-utilized assets. I joined the public service in 1999 at the Department of Finance, later moving to National Defence in 2001, where I held senior positions, including Director Cabinet Liaison and Director General of Policy Coordination. Before my public service career, I served as an infantry and intelligence officer in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1984 to 1998. I hold a Master of Public Administration from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Arts in Military and Strategic Studies from Royal Roads Military College.
