JENNEFER NEPINAK B.A., LL.B., ICD.D.
Jennefer Nepinak speaks on truth and reconciliation, Indigenous engagement, and economic reconciliation, helping organizations move from awareness and intention to accountable, relationship-based action. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience across political, governmental, legal, business, and community settings, she combines professional expertise with an approach firmly rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
Jennefer encourages audiences to understand reconciliation not as a fixed destination or standardized checklist, but as ongoing “heart work” grounded in relationships, reflection, learning, and accountability. Her presentations help organizations assess their current approach, understand the responsibilities that come with partnership, and identify practical steps for moving from conversation and awareness to sustained, meaningful action.
Her speaking also examines the longstanding contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples to Canada’s economy and the role of businesses and the private sector in addressing historic and systemic economic inequities. She explores how economic reconciliation can strengthen partnerships, expand Indigenous participation, and ensure Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and leadership inform decision-making.
MY STORY
Jennefer Nepinak is Anishinaabe from Treaty 4 territory and a proud citizen of Minegozhiibe Anishinaabe Nation (Pine Creek First Nation). Fluent in Ojibwe and grounded in her culture and community, she is a respected leader dedicated to ensuring Indigenous ways of knowing and being are recognized, respected, and meaningfully integrated into her work.
Jennefer is an experienced lawyer, executive, and trusted advisor with more than 25 years of leadership across political, governmental, legal, business, and community settings. She has a proven ability to convene diverse partners, facilitate collaboration, and build respectful relationships among Indigenous Nations, governments, businesses, institutions, and community organizations. Her work is grounded in cultural integrity, relationship-building, and a commitment to meaningful, sustainable change for Indigenous Peoples and communities.

Prior to her current role with TIPI Group of Companies, Jennefer served as Associate Vice-President, Indigenous Engagement, at the University of Winnipeg, where she helped advance Indigenous engagement, inclusion, and institutional transformation. Her previous roles include Senior Advisor at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Executive Director of the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba. She has also held leadership positions within
federal and provincial government departments and First Nations governments and previously served as in-house legal counsel for the West Region Tribal Council.
Jennefer’s leadership extends beyond her professional responsibilities. In 2023, she was appointed to the Manitoba Government Transition Advisory Committee and the Premier’s Business and Jobs Council. She also contributes her expertise, knowledge, and leadership through service on numerous boards and committees.
Throughout her career, Jennefer has remained committed to advancing respectful relationships, Indigenous participation, and reconciliation. She brings legal expertise, cultural grounding, strategic leadership, and lived experience to her work, along with a deep commitment to expanding opportunities for Indigenous Nations, communities, and future generations.
