MY STORY
I’m Hailey Rose, a proud member of Mosquito Grizzly Bears Head Lean Man and Red Pheasant First Nation, with roots in the Plains Cree and Nakoda peoples, living within the historic Treaty 4 & 6 Territory. I served as the elected Youth Chief for the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN), representing 74 First Nations across Saskatchewan.
Currently, I’m studying Indigenous Studies at the University of Saskatchewan in the Bachelor of Arts program, while also serving as Vice President of Communications for the Indigenous Students Union. I’m deeply passionate about Indigenous issues, and my leadership, advocacy, athleticism, and modeling have earned me recognition as a Terry Fox Scholar—an honour that reflects my commitment to both academic excellence and philanthropy.
Since 2019, I’ve contributed to the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) through my involvement in the Languages & Learning, Justice & Rights, and Environments & Lands departments, as well as my roles on the AFN Women’s and Youth Council. I’ve had the opportunity to attend several United Nations gatherings to discuss issues like MMIWG2S+, climate change, and reconciliation, both nationally and internationally.
I was also featured on APTN’s Warrior Up TV series, where I was honoured to be recognized as a warrior who inspires hope and promotes holistic wellness in our communities. Above all, I remain grounded in my roles as a daughter, sister, auntie, and friend.
