MY STORY
I’m Carol Anne Hilton, MBA, ICD.D, the CEO and founder of the Indigenomics Institute, the Global Center of Indigenomics, and the Global Indigenous Technology House. As an Indigenous business leader of Nuu chah nulth descent from the Hesquiaht Nation on Vancouver Island, I have the privilege of leading transformative work on Indigenous economic empowerment, both nationally and internationally. I hold an MBA in Business Management from the University of Hertfordshire, England, and I’m the award-winning author of Indigenomics: Taking A Seat at the Economic Table. Currently, I’m working on my second book, Deconstructing Indian Act Economics and the Rise of Indigenous Economic Power.

In addition to my entrepreneurial work, I serve on several prestigious boards, including the McGill University Institute for the Study of Canada, Earth Charter International, and the Bank of Montreal Indigenous Advisory Council, among others. I have also been a senior advisor to various economic councils and initiatives, such as the Canadian Economic Growth Council and the BC Indigenous Business and Investment Council.

My work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Mastercard Game Changer Indigenous Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the Nation Builder Award from the National Angel Capital Organization. I’ve also received the Award of Distinction in Indigenous Business from the BC Achievement Foundation and have been named one of the Top 500 Businesses in BC for three years running. Additionally, I was honoured with the National Award of Excellence in Aboriginal Relations from the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business.
