MY STORY

I have been proud to serve as the MP for Nunavut since 2021, advocating for my community on critical issues like suicide prevention, mental health, and Indigenous education. As executive director of the Nunavut Embrace Life Council, I expanded services and secured funding to address these urgent needs, all while balancing a blended family with 9 children and 7 grandchildren.

Having grown up in various communities across Nunavut, including Resolute, Igloolik, and Pond Inlet, I am deeply connected to my roots and committed to empowering Nunavummiut. My experience as an entrepreneur and my work with the NDP is driven by a passion to carry forward the vision of great leaders like John Amagoalik, Tagak Curley, and Paul Okalik, ensuring that our voices are heard in Ottawa and that promises are held accountable.
